Almost 75,000 individuals, legal entities register in H1 2026

The number of registrations of individuals and legal entities doing business increased in H1 2026 by 7.86% grom 2025, totalling 74,953 registrations, of which 41,491 LLCs, according to data published on the website of the National Companies Register Office (ONRC).

Most registrations were in Bucharest, 17,492 (+10.11% over the first six months of 2025), and in the counties of Ilfov (4,809, +10.37%), Cluj (3,689, +9.50%), Timis (3,657, +9.79%), Iasi (3,006, +3.33%), Constanta (2,887, +24.28%) and Bihor (2,463, +6.58%).

On the other hand, the lowest number of registrations was recorded in the counties of Covasna (393, +13.58% as against January-June 2025), Mehedinti (467, +1.97%), Teleorman (469, -6.57%), Tulcea (470, +1.51%) and Caras-Severin (523, +9.19%).

The largest increases in the number of registrations were recorded in the counties of Calarasi (+37.45%), Buzau (+25.26%) and Giurgiu (+24.33%), and the most significant decreases in the counties of Bacau (-9.02%), Teleorman (-6.57%) and Neamt (-5.71%).

According to ONRC, the areas in which the most registrations were made are transport and storage (12,609, +6.36% as against the first four months of 2025), wholesale and retail trade (10,648, -10.84%) and professional, scientific and technical activities (7,891, +15.87%).

In June 2026, 11,265 individuals and legal entities were registered, most of them in Bucharest (2,665), Ilfov (842), Cluj (564) and Timis (520).
