Storm fells trees, damages cars, floods houses in Dolj County

Dozens of trees fell on the roadside and on parked cars, with 15 houses and yards having been flooded, and the roofs of some buildings torn off by the wind in the wake of a strong storm that affected on Tuesday evening the southwestern city of Craiova, Dolj County, and other areas there. Firefighters responded to 49 emergencies.
According to the Dolj Emergency Management Inspectorate (ISU), out of the 49 emergencies, 31involved the removal of fallen trees on the roadside, and also on the roofs of parked cars, 15 regarded the evacuation of flood water from houses and yards, and three consisted of the removal of structure parts (roofs torn off by the wind), agerpres reports.
Between 21:34 hrs and 22:01hrs, in less than half an hour, the operative crews were requested to respond in several areas of the county. The first intervention took place in Breasta, where a tree fell on the road.
In the city of Craiova, the firefighters intervened to evacuate the flood water from the houses and yards.
Also in Craiova, strong wind tore off the roof of a house on Elena Teodorini Street and another roof on Nicolae Titulescu Street, where traffic was temporarily blocked. Also, several cases of fallen trees were reported on Dambovita, Craiova, Stefan Velovan and Dacia streets, with a tree having collapsed on two cars.
