St Elijah Fair, Friday to Sunday, at National Museum of the Romanian Peasant

A Saint Elijah Fair bringing together many craftspeople, artisans, antique dealers and artists, will be hosted Friday to Sunday by the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant.
"Craftsmen, artisans, antique dealers and artisans bring to the fair: ceramic objects, pitchforks, dowry chests, icons, painted furniture, old and new blouses, aprons, skirts, headwear, ornaments, leather objects, carpets, wooden crosses, felt objects, old furniture, household objects, toys and many other beautiful things that you can haggle and buy, in the middle of summer, at the Museum by the Roadside," the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant (MNTR) said in a press statement released on Wednesday.
The fair aims to promote the tangible and intangible heritage of Romania, offering the public, especially those from the urban area, the opportunity to discover, understand and appreciate the traditions, crafts and customs that define the cultural identity of the Romanian village.
There will be no shortage of goodies such as homemade cakes, honey or medicinal herbs, but also the traditional tsuica.
At the same time, the museum will continue to support, as every year, several schools, foundations, associations, organisations that carry out humanitarian activities, dedicated to children with disabilities and people from disadvantaged categories.
Admission to the Saint Elijah Fair, open between 10:00hrs - 18:00hrs, is free.
